Getting there
The journey to Jurmo is part of the overall experience This boater’s paradise is easy to reach by both car and bicycle, while enjoying the beautiful archipelago scenery along the way. The distance from the mainland is much shorter than you might think. If you begin your journey in Osnäs, Gustavs on the Finnish mainland, you can take the ferry Ådan, which brings you to the Åva ferry terminal in Brändö in just over 30 minutes. From there, you can hop directly onto the small ferry Doppingen, which takes you to Jurmo in ten minutes. If you are travelling from Mariehamn instead, the journey takes about four hours and is easiest by car and archipelago ferry via Hummelvik in Vårdö.

Stay in the Heart of the Archipelago at Jurmo Hostel
Jurmo Hostel is located in a former village school near the guest harbour and offers peaceful and cozy archipelago accommodation with four rooms for up to 16 guests, as well as access to a shared kitchen, shower, and toilet facilities. For more privacy, there is also a private apartment with its own entrance, space for five people (plus a baby cot), a private kitchen, shower, and toilet. The area also includes a campsite with a service building for tent and caravan guests. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is no later than 12:00. Unfortunately, early check-in and late check-out are not possible. Guests are responsible for cleaning themselves or may alternatively pay a cleaning fee of 25 euros.

Taste Archipelago Delicacies at Restaurant & Café Kvarnen
Restaurant & Café Kvarnen serves food with a strong connection to Jurmo and Åland. The meat is truly in a class of its own and comes from the island’s own Highland Cattle. From the sea, we source fish such as perch, whitefish, and salmon, caught in the nearby waters. Locally produced food is something we highly value on Jurmo Island. The menu features genuine archipelago delicacies and Kvarnen’s signature dishes. Among other things, we serve Åland’s best burger, the Jurmo Burger, which has become a well-known favorite over the years. The patty is made from Highland Cattle beef, creating an exceptional taste experience. For those who prefer seafood specialties, we warmly recommend our hearty sandwiches, especially the classic cured salmon sandwich, which takes center stage.
Shop Kvarnen
In our shop, we provide boat guests, cottage owners, and cyclists with everything needed for archipelago life. Our shelves are stocked with genuine Åland products such as local dairy goods, honey, and refreshing beverages. We also continuously update our selection and offer exotic locally produced products from around Åland! As a unique specialty, you can buy organic Highland beef from animals that have grazed on Jurmo’s own meadows, a true taste of the island at its very best. Jurmo Guest Marina
Welcome to Jurmo Guest Marina during the season starting June 12, 2026. The marina is located on the southern side of the island in the heart of the village, right next to Kvarnen Shop and Restaurant. There are approximately 40 berths with mooring at newly renovated piers, with anchor or buoy options available. The marina also provides fuel sales and septic tank emptying, and nearby you will find a football field, pétanque court, and a public swimming beach. The distance to Jurmo is 5 nautical miles from Osnäs in Gustavs, 25–30 nautical miles from Vårdö, and 55–60 nautical miles from Eckerö. The harbor fee is €28 per day including electricity. A sauna is also available for private rental. The sauna costs €25 per hour for up to four people and can be booked either on-site in the shop or in advance via +358 40 506 4777 or [email protected]. All payments are conveniently handled at Kvarnen Shop & Restaurant.
